Abstract
Hace sólo tres años, el conocido especialista en marketing Philip Kotler aventuraba con firmeza: "La década de los noventa supone el inicio de una época en la cual las empresas tienen que comenzar a pensar en el mercado internacional"1. Por esas mismas fechas, otros consagrados autores en el mundo del marketing se expresaban de forma parecida, y demostraban con cifras que cada vez las empresas multinacionales buscan estrategias de comunicación y de marketing con un alcance más global. Esta tendencia, que representa innumerables ventajas (control de los mensajes, diseño de una imagen poderosa, abaratamiento de costos, etc.) conlleva la creación de una publicidad cada vez menos contextualizada; o, dicho de otro modo, dirigida a un público cada vez más heterogéneo e indiferenciado.
