Percepciones de los alumnos hacia las matemáticas

Abstract

En base a estudios de Nimier (1976; 1988), el objetivo del artículo se centra en conocer las percepciones de los alumnos hacia la matemática. El estudio de encuesta nos permite conocer emociones y sensaciones que tiene el alumnado ante esta disciplina. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto que los alumnos de ESO y Bachillerato las perciben como una obligación aunque sienten curiosidad. Mientras los primeros manifiestan inseguridad y las consideran poco accesibles, los segundos opinan que es una ciencia accesible y ordenada. La actitud de los docentes resulta fundamental para favorecer una actitud positiva de los alumnos hacia esta materia.

Based on Nimier studies (1976;1988), the aim of this article is to understand the perceptions of students towards mathematics. The survey study allows us to know emotions and feelings that students have to this discipline. The results show that students in secondary and high schools perceived mathematics as an obligation but they are curious. While the first feel insecurity and considered mathematics as an inaccessible subject, the seconds say it is an accessible and orderly science. The attitude of teachers is essential to create a positive attitude in the students into this field.
