Judith, de Mulier Sancta a Femme Fatale: un análisis de la evolución iconográfica de la heroína del Antiguo Testamento

Abstract

En este trabajo se lleva a cabo un estudio sobre el recorrido iconográfico de la heroína bíblica Judith a través de las obras artísticas más significativas desde la Edad Media hasta principios del siglo XX. Concretamente, se incluye un análisis del texto bíblico y sus diversas versiones, así como un análisis de la iconografía de las obras seleccionadas. Estas obras están agrupadas según similitudes y diferencias en el significado y cronología, lo cual permite realizar una comparación entre ellas. Además, se lleva a cabo un estudio de la imagen de Judith en contraste con otros personajes que comparten matices con la heroína.

This work conducts a study on the iconographic journey of the biblical heroine Judith through the most significant artistic works from the Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century. Specifically, it includes the analysis of the biblical text and its various versions, as well as an examination of the iconography of the selected works. These works are grouped according to similarities and differences in significance and chronology, allowing for a comparison among them. Furthermore, a study is carried out on the portrayal of Judith in contrast to other characters who share nuances with the heroine.
