Depuis la création des vêtements, celui-ci n’était utilisé que pour réchauffer le corps,
mais avec l’évolution des mentalités, l’homme utilise le vêtement afin de se
démarquer des autres. Les différentes modes séparent les générations et les riches
des pauvres.
L’apparence est un point important dans notre société et permet d’affirmer sa
personnalité.
En effet, le prêt-à-porter est constitué de pièces qui sont des produits finis. Ce secteur
regroupe la création, la production ainsi que la commercialisation. Les gammes sont
souvent larges et profondes et proposent des tailles et des coloris différents pour
chaque produit. Le prêt-à-porter constitue la part la plus importante de l’habillement
en Espagne.
Le secteur du prêt-à-porter compte plus de 50 000 points de vente et environ 33 000
entreprises. Cependant, il y a une baisse du nombre d’indépendants pour une
augmentation des chaînes succursalistes et des enseignes de grande distribution. Ces
trois canaux de distribution ont assuré, les trois quarts des ventes du pays (les autres
canaux de distribution sont la vente à distance, les grandes surfaces alimentaires, les
grands magasins et les magasins populaires qui représentent donc le quart restant
des ventes du prêt-à-porter).
