Premisas valorativas y enfoque práctico en la definición de una teoría criminológica: a propósito del modelo antropológico de la teoría de las actividades rutinarias

Abstract
En el presente artículo se abordan algunas limitaciones al carácter científico que se atribuye a la Criminología. Se expone por qué una teoría criminológica debería, por un lado, explicitar sus premisas valorativas y, por otro, orientarse a una finalidad práctica, a saber, la prevención de comportamientos delictivos concretos. Frente a las teorías criminológicas clásicas, se defiende la utilidad de las teorías de nivel medio, al adaptarse mejor a las finalidades explicativas y preventivas que se espera de una teoría criminológica. Partiendo del modelo de la Teoría de las Actividades Rutinarias, se propone la división de los problemas criminológicos hasta un nivel razonable, que permita operar con conceptos tangibles, ayudando a reducir la vaguedad de los planteamientos excesivamente teóricos y facilitando la aplicabilidad práctica de medidas de prevención.
