Abstract
El objetivo de este estudio era comparar los sistemas de instrumentación K3 y K3XF en cuanto a transporte apical, transporte coronal, capacidad de centrado, tiempo de preparación, eliminación de dentina hacia el área de peligro y los defectos producidos en los instrumentos tras la preparación de dos conductos mesiales de molares mandibulares. Material y métodos: Se evaluaron las preparaciones de 80 conductos de molares mandibulares instrumentados en un modelo de fantoma en un simulador dental. Se tomaron radiografías y tomografías computerizadas de haz cónico de las muestras a medida que se producía el ensanchamiento apical hasta una lima de 40.04 para las posteriores mediciones del tercio apical y coronal. Se analizaron después los instrumentos utilizados. Ambos sistemas se utilizaron a 350 rpm y 2.8 con una técnica Crown-down. Se inspeccionaron los instrumentos y se tomaron fotografías con una cámara acoplada a un estereomicroscopio. Se analizaron los datos mediante un análisis de varianza con un nivel de significancia del P < 0.05. Resultados: No observamos diferencias significativas en los variables evaluadas según el número de usos con ambos sistemas (P> 0.05). No se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en cuanto a capacidad de centrado, transporte coronal y apical entre los sistemas, excepto cuando se realizaba un ensanchamiento apical hasta un calibre de #40 (P< 0.05). La preparación con el sistema K3 removió una cantidad de dentina superior hacia el área de peligro (P< .05) sin diferencias en cuanto al transporte apical se refiere (P> 0.05) y se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en cuanto a la cantidad de remoción de dentina cuando el ensanchamiento se realizada hasta una lima 40.04. No se produjo ninguna fractura de instrumento. El fallo más común para ambos sistemas fue el de desespiración leve. No se produjeron diferencias significativas entre sistemas. Conclusión: Ambos sistemas prepararon dos conductos curvos de manera eficiente y segura sin diferencias significativos entre sistemas.
