Abstract
Las ideas, los libros y los imaginarios mentales circulan no sólo por el tiempo,
sino también por el espacio geográfico. En esta ocasión nos proponemos analizar
cómo se produjo la translatio de las propuestas de Joaquín de Fiore (1130 ap-1202),
y más exactamente de los “espirituales” o “fratricelos”, hasta los confines de la
expansión territorial de la Monarquía Hispánica, en las islas del Pacífico, de la
mano del navegante portugués Pedro Fernandes de Queirós, o en su denominación
castellana, Pedro Fernández de Quirós (1565-1615).
