La evaluación de las compresiones/ventilaciones al final de un curso de SVB-DEA: ¿debe hacerse aisladamente o sobre un caso simulado junto con los parámetros principales de la «cadena de supervivencia»?

Abstract
Dada la facilidad y la objetividad actual de evaluar objetivamente el segundo eslabón de la cadena de supervivencia (compresiones torácicas y ventilaciones pulmonares) gracias a la tecnología de monitorización de los maniquís inteligentes1 y la importancia que actualmente se da a las compresiones torácicas en los resultados clínicos de la reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP)2, puede inducirse a los investigadores y profesores a evaluar únicamente las compresiones y ventilaciones después de un curso en soporte vital básico (SVB) y uso del desfibrilador externo automático (DEA). Sin embargo, los demás eslabones de la cadena son necesarios para mejorar el pronóstico y la supervivencia tras un paro cardiorrespiratorio (PCR) y, por tanto, todos ellos deberían ser evaluados después de una intervención formativa.
